Jerry Burley, Jr. was born December 19, 1940 in Mitchell County, Georgia, to the late Jerry Burley, Sr. and Catherine Burley.

At a very young age he gave his life to CHRIST and united with the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an usher until his illness.

On July 12, 1962 he was united in marriage to the former Annie Lois Quimbley

He was a graduate of Camilla Consolidated School with the class of 1958.

In 1993 he became the first black poultry farmer in Mitchell County.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Burley, Sr.

He departed this life on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at his residence.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Annie Lois Burley of Camilla, Georgia; ten beautiful children, Jerrie Dean (Terry) West of Camilla, Georgia, Develyn Bownes of Atlanta, Georgia, Craig (Ann) Burley of Camilla, Georgia, Terry (Teresa) Burley, Sr. of Camilla, Georgia, Wanda Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia, Ricky (Tina) Burley of Camilla, Georgia, Joyce Burley (Craig) Lusane of Atlanta, Georgia, Travis (Courtney) Burley of Atlanta, Georgia, April (Timmy) Cooper of Atlanta, Georgia, Mellikesha Burley of Atlanta, Georgia; twenty-three grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Ulysee (Ollie) Burley of Camilla, Georgia; eight sisters-in-law; eight brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
