Deacon Jimmy Lee Shelton, affectionately known as Kitty, 81 years young, transitioned to eternal life on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla, Georgia.
Born May 13, 1936 in Camilla, Georgia, he was the oldest child of the late Albert Shelton, Sr. and Clinnie Mae Wright Banks.
He was a dedicated and faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla, Georgia, where he served on the deacon board for sixty-eight years.
He was united in marriage to the former Ruby Lee Ross, who preceded him in death. He later united in marriage to the former Willie Mae Jackson.
He was known best as a people person. Many will remember him, especially the kids, for his dog impression that sounded just like a real dog. Also, we cannot leave out his many jokes that he constantly told on a daily basis.
Preceding him in death include his parents, Albert Shelton, Sr. and Clinnie Mae Wright Banks; a spouse, Ruby Lee Ross Shelton; daughter, Teresa Ann Peoples; sisters, Willie Mae Harvey, Cora Haywood; brothers, Albert Shelton, Jr., Freddie Banks, R. J. Shelton.
He leaves to cherish his memories a wife, Willie Mae Jackson; ten children, Mary (Sam) Florence, James (Alice) Shelton, Horace Shelton, Kenneth Shelton, Teresa Quimby, Connie Metcalf, Carl Williams, Kervin (Rhonda Dennard) Williams, Kerry (Virginia) Williams, and Calvin Williams; one stepdaughter, Ruby Dean Florence; five siblings, Evelyn Banks Grace, Eddie Banks, Elizabeth Shelton, Richard Shelton, Norman (Virginia) Shelton; his porch buddy, Willie (Bill Jack) Robinson; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
