The funeral service of Joanna West will be conducted Saturday, November 8, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 7141 Pipeline Road, Camilla, Georgia. Dr. Joe R. Thomas will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell County High School Class of 1978.

Joanna West, daughter of Florence Jones, was born March 15, 1960 in Mitchell County, Georgia.

She was a 1978 graduate of Mitchell County High School in Camilla, Georgia.

She attended Albany Technical College.

At an early age, she united with the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She was employed with Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia for thirteen years.

She departed this life on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Latasha West, Toquila West, of Atlanta, Georgia; a son, Morrio West of Atlanta, Georgia; a mother, Florence Jones of Atlanta, Georgia; a step-father, Eddie Lee Jones of Atlanta, Georgia.

She is also survived by two brothers, Jerry (Essie) West of McDonough, Georgia, Terry (Jeraldine) West of Camilla, Georgia; one sister, Gertrude West of Roswell, Georgia; a devoted uncle, Willie James (Irene) West, Daniel (Gertrude) West of Miami, Florida; an aunt, Geneva Lee of Miami, Florida; six grandchildren, Kendarious Redden, Quendarious Redden, Morrio West, Jr., Za'Morria West, Ka'Morria West of Atlanta, Georgia, Mariana West of Brooklyn, New York; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 725 U.S. Highway 19, South, Camilla.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 7, 2008, at 6:00 p.m., at the Robert Jester Mortuary.
