A Gift from God
Johanna Abeni Jones was born October 10, 2014, at Northside Hospital (Atlanta, Georgia). Her parents, Corey O'Neal Jones and Brittany Venessa Dixon Jones, welcomed her to their family that included two big sisters, Jakyriah Morrison and Kaylee Jones. After spending several weeks in the hospital, Johanna came home to Eufaula, Alabama, where she added a special cheer, sweet spirit, and gentle peace to her family. Johanna's calm, quiet spirit brought a peace that can only be described as God-given. Through Baby Johanna, many lives have been touched; her entire life on this earth is a reminder that our stay here is temporary. Her time with her family - the hours, days, weeks, and months - will forever be cherished by all who knew her. She brought joy to her proud daddy, comfort to her loving mother, serenity to her joyvial sisters, and love to her entire family. God's gift has blessed us immeasurably and will forever be cherished in our hearts.
On June 2, 2015, God, in His divine sovereignty and infinite wisdom decided to carry Johanna Abeni Jones back home to rest in His eternal arms of love. She has now gone where none of us have gone before; thus, she's shown us that a little child can lead the way. Johanna leaves behind on this earth two loving parents, Corey and Brittany; two big sisters, Jakyriah and Kaylee; paternal grandparents, B. J. Jones and Annie Lee Jones of Camilla, Georgia; maternal grandparents, Charlie Dixon and Gwendolyn Dixon of Camilla, Georgia; maternal great grandmother, Lillie Graham Crawford; aunts and uncles, Gwyneira Ledford (Daniel) of Statesboro, Georgia, Adam Dixon of Camilla, Georgia, Jackqulyn D. Crawford (Coral, Sr.) of Columbus, Georgia, Tony M. Saxon (Berrylnn) of Camilla, Georgia, Benjamin J. Jones (Annette) of Albany, Georgia, Jennifer L. Jones of Valdosta, Georgia, Lela M. Johnson of Jacksonville, Florida, Altheia L. Dunbar (Charlie, III) of Thomasville, Georgia, B. J. Jones, Jr. of Camilla, Georgia; and a host of other relatives.
You were a gift sent from heaven
Given to us from God above.
We didn't know how much you would
teach us about the meaning of true love.
For true love sometimes means letting
go of someone precious and dear.
Sweet Johanna Abeni, we truly do believe
that God must have needed you more.
Perhaps to be an angel now, watching
over those of us who loved you
from the shining stars above.
We miss you more than you can know
You can never be replaced...
In our hearts and memories forever will
be your sweet and innocent sleeping face.
