IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Lewis
Dawson
June 13, 1959 – March 14, 2019
John Lewis Dawson, son of the late Willie Andrew Dawson, Sr. and Ruby Jewel Dawson, was born on June 13, 1959 in Mitchell County, Georgia.
Lewis, as he was affectionately called, graduated from Mitchell County High School Class of 1978. At an early age, Lewis confessed CHRIST and joined the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Lewis spoke highly of his children and grandchildren. He spent many years being a Welder by Trade. He loved doing work with his hands, especially building things. Lewis also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in the "Shark Tank" at his home. He welcomed everyone that came in his presence. His heart for people was immeasurable. Lewis never met a stranger. If he could help in any way that's what he did. Even during his trials and tribulations, his love never wavered. To know him was to love him. If we could find one word to describe him, it would be "LOVE."
He departed this life on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Georgia.
He leaves to cherish his memories two loving children, Sharonda Dawson (Edmond) of Dallas, Texas and John Dawson, Jr. (Passion) of Albany, Georgia; three loving grandchildren, King Asad, Dante Dawson and Nylah Dawson; two loving sisters, Larcene Dawson and Lizzie (Orlando) Hawkins of Camilla, Georgia; four brothers, Willie Dawson, Jr. (Barbara) of Albany, Georgia, Eddie Dawson, Sr. (Varrie) of Newton, Georgia, Tommy Dawson of Camilla, Georgia, and Freeman Dawson of Pelham, Georgia; a loving and devoted fiance', Priscilla Brown of Camilla, Georgia; two aunts, Tennie Jackson and Lula Mae Ward of Tallahassee, Florida; two uncles, Rufus (Lizzie Pearl) Robinson of Gainesville, Florida, James Mack Robinson of Baconton, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very special friends.
