Obituary
John Ray Wallace, son of the late George C. Wallace and Leola Wallace, was born December 28, 1944, in Mitchell County, Georgia.
He attended Camilla Consolidated School in Camilla, Georgia.
He was employed with Equity Group Division where he retired.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara J. Wallace Robinson and two brothers, Jericho Wallace and George Wallace.
He departed this life Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Columbus Regional Medical Center.
Those left to cherish his memories include two brothers, William Wallace of Colorado Springs, Colorado, James Wallace of Reidsville, Georgia; four sisters, Betty Wilson of Leesburg, Georgia, June (Benjamin) Scott of Albany, Georgia, Joan (Clint) Carter of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Cherry Wallace of Pelham, Georgia; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
MEMORIAL SERVICE
The memorial service of John Ray Wallace, will be conducted Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at Robert Jester Mortuary. Discouse will be by Brother Ulyssee Burley.
His Journey's Just Begun
Don't think of him as gone away
His journey's just begun,
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years.
Think how much he must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.
And think of him as living
In the hearts of those he touched...
For nothing loved is ever lost
And he was loved so much.
