On November 24, 1962, John Lorenzo Williams, Sr., was born in Camilla, Georgia to the parentage of Pearlie Mae Williams and the late Willie Williams.

In 1967, John and his parents moved to Miami, Florida, where he attended Buena Vista Elementary, then transferred to Dunbar Elementary.  He went to middle school at Ada Merritt.  From there he went to Miami Jackson, graduating from Miami Senior High, where he played football and was on the swimming and softball teams at Williams Park. As a youngster, he loved fishing.

Following graduation, he pursued a career at Miami Dade Solid Waste and continued there for five years.  He later did landscaping until he fell ill.

In 1990, John dedicated his life over to the Lord at Chosen Generation International Ministries under the leadership of Apostle John Lee Person and Pasty Mary Blount.  At Chosen Generation, John served as an usher in the church.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie W. Williams, Jr., and Willie J. Williams.

On Friday, May 15, 2020, at 8:00 a.m., John Lorenzo Williams, Sr., departed to be with the Lord.

He is survived by his mother, Pearlie Williams; children, John L. Williams, Jr. (Waleshia Foster-Williams), Lance Moore (Markita Moore), and Girtrude Williams (Hector); siblings, Climan Montina, Kattely Montina, and Cynthia Waiters-Williams; nine grandchildren; two great-uncles; one god-uncle, Reginald Horton; one god-sister, Tamika Hicks; a very special friend, Kisley Mathis; a former wife, Carolyn Williams; a host of seven aunts, three uncles, nephews, nieces, and friends.
