Larry Darnell Alexander, son of the late Flamon Barney and Lucille Alexander, was born September 7, 1961 in Camilla, Georgia.
He confessed his life to CHRIST at an early age and united with Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. He later joined Quinn Memorial AME Church in Steubenville, Ohio, where he was a member of the Voices of Praise and mentored the young adults.
After high school, Larry joined the United States Air Force where he was an honor guard.
He also worked at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel as a crane man on the Ohio River for ten years. He later retired. He was a legionnaire with Post #33.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an aunt, China Drakes; one uncle, Percy Jones; one sister, Bonita Alexander-Davis; and one niece, Joyce Yates.
Larry departed this life on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the Veterans Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He leaves to cherish his memories, three children Derek Alexander of Camilla, Georgia, Tiffany (Antonio) Dillard of Camilla, Georgia, Janaya Wallace of Weirton, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Serenity Alexander of Valdosta, Georgia, Antonio Dillard and Israel Alexander of Camilla, Georgia; two sisters, Harriette (Harry) Williams of Camilla, Georgia, Krista (Derrick) Jackson of Pelham, Georgia; one brother, Kerry Alexander of Camilla, Georgia; two special cousins, Fred (Nick) Drakes and Wylene Alexander; two close friends, Eric Vaughn of Atlanta, Georgia and Dontae' Brown of Steubenville, Ohio.
