Ms. Laura Lee Youamus, daughter of Sam Youman and Daisy Youman, was born November 3, 1959 in Mitchell County, Georgia.

She confessed CHRIST at an early age and united with the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church.  She later joined the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

She was a graduate of Mitchell County High School class of 1977.

Laura's employment included Tads Sportswear, Ithaca of Camilla, Cooper Tire, Miller Brewery, and Mitchell County Justice Center.

Affectionately called Poochie, Auntie, Aunt Poochie, Laura was a very kind and gentle hearted person who embraced life's experiences with open arms.  She did not shy away from the truth.

Laura truly enjoyed spending time with her family and her engaging personality captured the hearts of all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Mae Youmans and Emma Ruth Calhoun; a brother, Sammie Lee Youman.

She departed this life on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Archbold Living in Pelham, Georgia.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sisters, Ruthie (Howard) Youames of Baconton, Georgia, Florine Edwards Johnson of Youngstown, Ohio; three brothers, William (Betty) Youman, James Youmes, Willie B. Youman of Baconton, Georgia; a godmother, Annie Belle Wheeler of Snellville, Georgia; god-sisters, Luella C. Wheeler-Ikuesan (Samuel Ikuesan) of Snellville, Georgia, Sharon A. Wheeler (Landon Bell) of Lilburn, Georgia, Kenneth Dale Wheeler (Nova Wheeler) of Mobile, Alabama, Linda Robbett Wheeler-Smith of Thomasville, Georgia, Robert Darrell Wheeler (Cynthia Wheeler) of Fayetteville, Georgia, Dana Keith Wheeler (Suzette Wheeler) of Conely, Georgia, Lewis (Terry) Moore of Baconton, Georgia; nieces, Lakeisha, Lakesha, Tiffany, Crystal, Cora Warner, Jessie Neumon and Deion; nephews, Willie Youmes, Anthony Richardson, James Youmes, Justin Youmes, Ryne Youman, Demarquis Moore; several great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
