Obituary

Lear Parker Burns was born to the late Corene Ross Parker and James Jones on June 18, 1941.

Lear joined Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla, Georgia at an early age and remained a member throughout her life.

She attended Camilla Consolidated School and was a proud graduate of the class of 1959.  On March 30, 1968, she was united in holy matrimony to Robert L. Burns, who preceded her in death.

Lear departed this life on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus, Georgia.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lear was preceded in death by a brother, James Jones, and a nephew, Henry Parker, Jr., whom she reared from birth.

Lear leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted stepfather, David L. Green of Camilla, Georgia; three brothers, Henry (Rosa) Parker, Sr. of Thomasville, Georgia, Charlie Parker of Trenton, New Jersey, Joe Williams of Plant City, Florida; one sister, Ernestine Simon of Lithonia, Georgia; a devoted cousin, Victor J. Carroll of Camilla, Georgia; four sisters-in-law, Oliver "Sweetie" Burns of Jonesboro, Georgia, Cassandra (Michael) Arnold of Atlanta, Georgia, Nedra (Orndrell) White of Newton, Georgia, Sara Pearl Burns of Camilla, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, Sherman (Toya) Owens of Tallahassee, Florida, Cordell (Evonne of Huntsville, Alabama) Burns of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Anthony (Cassandra) Baines of Orlando, Florida; other relatives and friends.
