IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Levenson Calhoun,
Jr.
October 22, 1947 – June 3, 2024
Levenson Calhoun, Jr., beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many was born October 22, 1947, in Mitchell County, Georgia. He was the fifth of thirteen children born to the union of the late Mr. and Mrs. Levenson Calhoun, Sr.
Junior, as he was called by many, used his education and the teaching of his parents to nurture the land and appreciate its rewards to build his life to what it became today. He was able to bounce back from life's trials and tribulations, use the leadership and entrepreneur skills taught him to provide a decent life for himself and retire to his home in Georgia.
Retirement afforded him the opportunity to enjoy life at his pace, his hobbies to take care of the land, cook, grill and fish at his leisure in a place of solitude and peace and to travel as often as he pleased.
After Junior's health began to fail, he did have an opportunity to enjoy one last family reunion in the summer of 2021.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Arthur Calhoun, Minnie Pearl Brady, David Calhoun, and Joseph Calhoun; a brother-in-law, William Hall
On Monday, June 3, 2024 at 7:09 p.m., Levenson closed his eyes one last time and entered his heavenly home.
Those left to cherish his memories are his five children, Kimberly Calhoun, Karen Calhoun, Cornelius (Nina) Davis, Keith (Paris) Calhoun, and Kenneth Calhoun; sixteen grandchildren, Rashad, Jamal, Jalissa, LaQuisha, Cornelius, Jr., TyQuazia, Quanta, Saraniq, Kenneth, Jr., Kenyon, Kenya, Kenyada, Kendia, Kendrick, and Eric; ten great grandchildren, Rashad, Jr., Jaliya, ShaRa, Imari, Malanie, Zion, Londyn, Deoir, Trevon, and Demoni; one godson, Preston Lawson; eight siblings, Alsie (Willie James) Turner, Burnetta Hall, Neromie (Joann) Calhoun, Ralph (Andrea) Calhoun, Nary Calhoun, Toney Calhoun, Debra (Reverend Kenneth) Smith, and Linda (David) Lawson; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
