IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lillie Mae
Braddy Wimberly
April 13, 1943 – January 11, 2026
Lillie Mae Braddy Wimberly was born on April 13, 1943, in Washington County, Georgia, to the late Ellis Braddy and Martha Braddy. From an early age, she was nurtured in faith, family, and community values that guided her throughout her life.
Lillie Mae was a devoted servant of God and a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Warthen, Georgia. She loved the Lord and demonstrated her faith through kindness, humility, and service to others. Her presence in the church was a source of encouragement and strength, and her life reflected the love of Christ in all she did.
She attended T.J. Elder High School and carried the lessons of perseverance, integrity, and compassion with her into adulthood. She was united in holy matrimony to Reverend Melvin Wimberly, and together they built a home grounded in faith, love, and devotion.
Lillie was a certified CNA who dedicated her career to caring for others. She worked at Fairburn Nursing Home in Atlanta, Georgia, and later continued her service in New York with Bushwick–Stuyvesant Heights Home Attendant Inc., where she retired after relocating back to Atlanta.
In her free time, Lillie Mae found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching daytime television, and game shows. She proudly considered herself a master at card games, and had a special fondness for games of chance. Whether shuffling cards or trying her luck with scratch-offs, she played with confidence, laughter, and a competitive spirit that made every moment unforgettable.
Lillie was a loving mother of two children: the late Lorenzo Wimberly and her surviving daughter, Jacqueline Wimberly. She was a cherished grandmother to Jacquay, Kanzada, Kalandra, Joakima, and P.J. Wimberly, and a proud great-grandmother to her great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply and prayed for faithfully.
