Obituary

Lillie Mae "Pete" Ross was born March 13, 1927 to James Henderson Ross and Ophelia Riggins-Barnes Ross.

In the evening of April 30, 2014, Wednesday night, "Muh" took leave of her body and entered into the joy, and rest of her Lord.  There's consoliation "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."  Muh confessed Christ at an early age and was a committed member of Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  Her ministry was that one of personal sacrifice to illustrate and prove how edifying in love in GOD.  She loved in deed and in truth (not just in word and in tongue).  Muh's special ministry was illustrated by her selflessness and personal sacrifices.  Her way was to love in truth and through her actions.  Her speed and salted with pearls of wisdom and godly advice.

Muh was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffery Ross, Sr. and O'Shay Thomas, Sr.

The life of Muh is expressed in the richness of a treasured tapestry.  Celebrations of life and family were showered upon Muh and her love for her family she wore like a jeweled crown.  Muh always expressed that she never wanted to leaver her own mother and also for saying in quiet thankfulness - that she had always wanted a big family.

Muh leaves to cherish her rich legacy, one brother, Frank (Odessa) Ross, Sr.; the children, both fruit from her body along with the others whom she treasured and helped to complete her prayer for many children, Barbara Williams, Wendolyn Thomas, Rutha (Rodney) Brown, Winston Ross, Katrina (Peter) Spence, Kassandra (Merritt) Hampton.

For her generosity of spirit and the great capacity for loving with which she was blessed, Muh extended great motherly care and concern as well to her nephews Charles (Devilyn) Thomas and Wayne Thomas.

These children offered to her of grandchildren, Jessica, Sadie, Janna, O'Shay, Jr., Wykenya, Kenyatta, Jamie, Candice, Zandria, Ordette, Jeffrey, Jr., Natasha, Jason, Dewayne, Demetrius, Alonza, Karalda, Tiaka, Akruaria, Xavier, Latosha, and Ian; with them thirty-four great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.  These grands were the joy in her heart.

To complete Muh's vision of love was the immeasurable affection that she shared and lavished upon her great host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A loved one from our household is gone
A voice we loved is still
A place is vacant in our hearts

Sincere and true in her heart and mind
A beautiful memory she has left behind.
