Obituary

A Time For Birth

Lillie Mae Williams West was born June 26, 1922 in Newton, Georgia to the late Lelia Bell Harris-Williams.  She was reared in Baker County and spent most of her adult life in Camilla, Georgia.

A Time For Preparation

She was educated in both Baker and Mitchell Counties.

A Time For Humbleness

She was dedicated and loyal to all who knew her.  She joined the church at an early age and she served diligently.  She devoted her love and time to her family and helping others.  She was united in Holy Matrimony to Roy Lee West who preceded her in death.  To this union five children were born.

A Time To Die

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James "Teddy Boy" Causway; a sister, Carrie Bell Davis; two brothers, Gentle Lee Williams and Tommy Mathis; three sisters-in-law, Mattie Ruth Mathis, Mae Bell Mango, Lula Dennard; three brothers-in-law, Lennard Dennard, Sr., Horace West, and Benjamin West, Sr.

Then, early Thursday morning, an angel came down as our loved one heard a sweet voice saying, come on home my good and faithful servant and the words to an old familiar song, "Your Grace and Mercy Brought Me Through."

Her memories will always be cherished by her loving and devoted sons, Willie (Annie) West of Camilla, Georgia, Freddie (Nadine) West of Fayetteville, Georgia, Nathan West of Albany, Georgia, Melvin (Lisa) West of San Diego, California; daughter-in-law, Beulah Causway of Camilla, Georgia; fifteen grandchildren, Rosalyn, Deltalyn, LaDonna, Serless, Cicely, Patrick, James, Candice, Cassandra, Natasha, Tramaine, Dominik, Eric, Trina, and Michaela; twenty great grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Rosa Lee Clayton of Key Largo, Florida, Bertha Crimbley and Mary Ann (John) Battle of Pelham, Georgia; two brothers, Eddie (Christine) Jackson, and Willie (Hattie) Hawkins of Pelham, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.

OUR MOMMA COULD

Our mother was one of the best creations of GOD.  She had amazing powers, because she could multitask without complaining, while caring for, not two, but five boys.  She also cared for everyone else without any demands.

Our mother had a lap that held two brothers, four sisters, five boys, sixteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and plenty of nieces and nephews.  She had a kiss and a smile that could cure anything from a craped knee to a broken heart.

THE LORD made her soft, but she was tough:  for no one knows what she endured throughout her life but GOD.  At the age of 92, she continued to think, hold a conversation, recognize her family, and knew it was GOD'S Grace and Mercy that brough her through nine decades.  She had strength that amazed us all at the ripe age of 92.  She kept a smile on our face, and she kept us on our toes.  So, Momma we see you as this type of Mother.

WE CANNOT

We cannot take a heart that's broken and
Make it over again,
But we knew our Mother could.
We can't take a child that's sick
And get him back to being mischievous again,
But we knew our Mother could.
We cannot take having nothing in the refrigerator and
Make a meal for our children,
But we knew our Mother could.
Some called her Mrs. West, Lillie Mae, Missy,
Auntie, Aunt Missy, Mama, Grandma, and Granny.
But GOD called her HIS child.

Love Your Sons,
Willie Fredd,e Nathan, and Melvin
