Lizzie Ida
Robinson
May 9, 1941 – April 23, 2024
Lizzie Ida Robinson was born to the late Emmie C. Johnson and the late Rosa Lee Bell Johnson-Marcus on May 9, 1941. She joined the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Timothy M. Robinson Sr. To this union, five children were born.
Lizzie was a 1958 graduate of Camilla Consolidated High School. After graduating from high school, she attended Albany State University.
After marriage, she joined the New Salem Missionary Baptist where she was a dedicated member serving on the kitchen community, usher board, union representative, choir, and mother of the church. Lizzie enjoyed socializing at the Baconton Senior Citizen Center. She worked for many years at RCM Enterprise, Firestone Tire Rubber Company, and later Equity Group where she retired. She was an excellent gardener, seamstress, and cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Micheal B. Robinson. Surrounded by her loved ones, she departed this life on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
She leaves a legacy and loving memories that will be cherished forever; four beloved children: Gwendolyn R. Brooks, Timothy (Melvin) Robinson (Talisha Robinson), Travia C. Robinson, Tara L. Robinson; two bonus children, Melva A. Jones and Simpson Barton; three devoted sisters, Ernestine Burley, Retha Simpson, and Linda Robinson; twelve grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
