Obituary

Lonely Lou Allen Daniels was born on June 20, 1936 to Alfred and Alma (Alexander) Allen in Pelham, Georgia. She was the 3rd of seven children. Lonely Lou or "Lou" as she was affectionately known, would attend Mitchell County Training School, return home to help her father in the fields followed by a quick nap before meal time. She was always in awe with how her mother, Alma, could prepare the family meal in the wood burning stove/oven.

After graduating from Mitchell County Training School, Lou enrolled in Gillispie School of Nursing where she successfully earned her nursing diploma; later becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) where she lovingly cared for her patients for 55 years before retiring. Because of her compassionate and gentle spirit, Lou was often described as the "nurse's nurse"! While a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida, Lou met and married O.C. Bobby Daniels of Little Rock, Arkansas. Before the couple would later divorce, they had two children; Cassandra (Pelham, GA) and Forrest Andrew (Providence, RI).

Lou loved to bake, watch PBS, fish and spend quality time with her family and friends. She was extremely proud of her children and grandson. She and her late brother, Robert, were known to make the best pound cakes and sweet potato pies; respectively! She was the consummate nurturer.  Lou also served as a primary caregiver to her late aunts, Hattie Bell Edmonson and Evelyn Roulhac.

On Monday, December 11, 2023, our mother, Lonely Lou Allen Daniels, heard the voice of the Lord calling. She prepared her children and grandson for such a time as this by encouraging us to accept and follow Christ. While she will be missed with her physical presence, we are comforted by the greatest eternal bond that binds us.

In addition to her two children, Lou leaves behind her beloved grandson, Christian Daniels (Ann Arbor, MI), sisters, Hermine Miller (Albany, GA) and Rose Evelyn Champ-Hart (Cleveland, OH) and brothers, Alfred Allen Jr. (Kerrina) (Pelham, GA) and Walter Allen (Willa Dean) (Pelham, GA). She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.
