IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lonnie Charles

September 30, 1948 – November 30, 2017
He confessed CHRIST at an early age and united with the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend P. S. Sparks.
He was educated in the Rockdale School System of Camilla, Georgia and he graduated in the 1968 graduating class of Camilla Consolidated Schools.
Upon graduating from high school, he met and married his best friend and love Ms. Dorothy Ann Bryant of Pelham, Georgia who preceded him death. To this union three sons were born, Lonnie Charles Wimberly, Jr. who also preceded him in death, Craig Wimberly, Sr. and Keith Wimberly, Sr. In the late 60s L. C. and his wife moved to Detroit, Michigan, started a family, and there they resided until their deaths.
L. C. was an entrepreneur and businessman. For many, many years, he along with his late brothers owned three successful businesses, a Seafood Market, and two family markets (Wimp's Market) in Detroit.
He later joined the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit under the leadership of the late Reverend Barnett and there he served on the Trustee Board until his health failed.
L.C. was loved by all whom he came in contact with. He always had that everlasting smile, and had a kind way with words. He was a great father, brother, uncle, friend, and mentor.
In addition to his parents, his wife, and his oldest son, he is also preceded in death by a sister, Cora Wimberly Royal, and 4 brothers, Alfred, William, Joseph, Jr. and David Wimberly, Sr.
