Obituary

Louella Gaines Williams, daughter of the late Robert Gaines and Mozella Crawford Gaines, was born in Mitchell County, Georgia on February 5, 1918.

At a very early age, Louella began her journey with the Lord at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She was blessed with the gift of song and utilized her God-given talent as once being a member of the Senior Choir.  She also served as an usher, missionary, and deaconess.  Louella was a woman who feared the Lord, a woman of prayer and faith, and a woman whose life was a blessing to many people.

She was united in holy matrimony to McKinley Williams. Louella diligently cared for the needs of her family.  They loved her good food which included her homemade biscuits.  She loved gardening, caring for her children and grandchildren, and her church family.  For several years, she was employed with Wilgree Manufacturing Company.

In life, Louella considered her family and friends to be among her most prized blessings, and delighted in bringing them together for various gatherings and functions.   Her heart was full of love, compassion, praise, and adoration. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

On Thursday, July 9, 2020, she quietly transitioned to her eternal home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, McKinley Williams; two daughters, Betty Bradley and Lillie Pearl Bradley; nine sisters, Edna Ellen Robinson, Pauline Gaines, Lucille Coleman, Leah Peoples, Alice Brown, Mae Lizzie Sheppard, Myrtle Ross, Vernita Oliver, Rebecca Laws; twelve brothers, Edress Gaines, Russell Gaines, James Gaines, Benjamin Gaines, Robert Gaines, John Gaines, Crawford Gaines, James Lamar Gaines, Floyd Gaines, Cleveland Gaines, Joseph Gaines, Nathaniel Gaines; four grandchildren, Vicky Williams, Michael Bradley, Christopher Bradley, Gigi Bradley.
