IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lula
Williams-Young
March 4, 1941 – July 5, 2024
Lula Mae Williams Young was born in Mitchell County, Camilla, Georgia, on March 4, 1941. She was one of three daughters born to James (Jim) Frank Williams and Rosa Lee (Robinson) Williams. Raised mainly in the country side, Lula participated in field work, stayed home and baby sit the younger. Being one of eleven kids, it was not easy.
Lula had six brothers that preceded her in death. One sister and one brother remains, Mattie Ruth Williams Lllemand and Minister John Louis Williams.
She attended Camilla Consolidated School for a short time. At an early age, their parents decided they had enough of the country and chose the bright lights of Miami, Florida. In Dade County School System is where she received her education. Not too fond of school at some point, Lula offered to go to work, got tired of working for pennies and went back to school. However, this time her attitude had changed and was determined to succeed.
She worked at Burdines for a short period then her interest in the medical field sparked a fire that wouldn't go out for many years to come. She studied furiously and finished in the upper percentile of her class and received her license in Nursing.
She met and married Sam Parker and from that union one son, Jed Parker, was born.
Now she was fed up with the bright lights of Miami, and moved north to Carver Ranch. She stayed there for a short spell. She finally decided to move from Florida altogether. She took her son, Jed (Marty), and was off to Weirton, West Virginia. She lived there for a few years. She later moved to Wilmington, Delaware. This time the town grew on her and her son, Jed. There she met and fell in love with Billy Grant Young. She worked forty-five years as a registered nurse and did her job with grace. When our father got ill, she came back to Georgia to get him to live with her until his transition in 1999. (A heart of compassion).
Lou as she was affectionately known as worked until her health began to decline. And after all of these years there are only three left with all relocating to their roots, Camilla, Georgia.
Lou confessed CHRIST at an early age. She was faithful until her last moments still knowing that GOD was keeping her.
Lou is survived by her son, Jed Parker; a devoted daughter-in-law, Alethia Church Parker; brother, John Williams; sister, Mattie Lallemand; seven grandchildren, Jedaya, Jade, Janiyah, Langston, London, Lexington, Leighton; two great grandchildren, Milani and Malia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, along with many sorrowing friends.
