Obituary

Marcia Lynne Williams was born on August 27, 1961 to her father and the late Virginia Elizabeth Williams.  Marcia was the oldest of her three siblings, Wanda S. Jackson, Risa C. Thomas, and Khalil O. Saadiq, born Thomas Williams, III.

The family moved to Fort Myers, Florida soon thereafter where they flourished, living on Capri Drive, Marcia's aunt Mary swam in the "Rock Crusher" and Marcia and her younger sister swam in the more shallow waters.  Eventually Marcia's mother met and married Thomas Williams and moved to Baxley, Georgia.  There in Baxley, Marcia met Wilson Williams, and bore her son Gerald Brent Williams at the age of 14.

Virginia Williams and her family moved back to Camilla, Georgia where Marcia enjoyed life, partied and graduated from Mitchell County High School.  Marcia was always an exceptionally bright and capable student, limited only by her own enthusiasm.  She was also an exceptional athlete who ran track, played basketball and was one of the exciting "Flying Eagles"! She was no stranger to work and her co-workers at Cagle's can attest to that.

While in Camilla, Marcia met Randolph Hayward, the father of her surviving children, Randy, Audra and Audris.

Soon thereafter, Marcia moved to Miami, Florida.  She met Charles Burgess, with whom she developed a relationship that extended to Audris and Audra... to this very day.

Marcia battled her illness for many years, but those harsh years were tempered by the love of her constant companion and protector, Jose Nieves Flores.  Jesus sent Jose, as his proxy, as the Comforter.

Marcia departed this life on September 25, 2020, and she lived it to its fullest.

Marcia leaves to cherish her memories a long time partner, Jose Flores of Atlanta, Georgia; three children, Randy (DeAnne) Williams of Portsmouth, Virginia, Audra Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, Audris Williams of Washington, D.C.; one son, Gerald Williams, preceded her in death; a granddaughter, Nyla Williams of Portsmouth, Virginia; two sisters, Wanda Jackson and Risa Thomas of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Khalil Saadiq of Boston, Massachusetts; four aunts, Mary Williams of Camilla, Georgia, Redina Grissom of St. Louis, Missouri, Carrie Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, Karen Williams of Rex, Georgia; three uncles, George Williams of Rex, Georgia, Fulton Williams of Douglasville, Georgia, Robin Williams of Woodbridge, Virginia; first cousins, Karen Tatum of Atlanta, Georgia, Cherry Kendricks of Atlanta, Georgia, Lawrence Williams, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, Keith Williams of LaGrange, Georgia, Maurita Dilworth of Decatur, Georgia, Joya Williams of Rex, Georgia, Tyies Scott of Albany, Georgia, Patricia Hicks of Albany, Georgia, James Patterson, III of Atlanta, Georgia, Kerri Williams of Woodbridge, Virginia, Lamar Williams of Woodbridge, Virginia, Deanna Young of Atlanta, Georgia, Theresa Hines of Camilla, Georgia, Anthony Morgan of Douglasville, Georgia, Fulton Williams, II of Atlanta, Georgia, Tyree Grissom of St. Louis, Missouri, Justin Grissom of St. Louis, Missouri; and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
