Mrs. Margaret Redden Harris was born October 16, 1933 in Mitchell County, Georgia to the late Clarence D. Redden and Willie Mae Redden.

Margaret attended the Rockdale School in Camilla, Georgia.

At an early age, Margaret confessed CHRIST and joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla, Georgia.  Margaret was a faithful and dedicated member and servant to her church for seventy-five years.  Throughout her membership, she served in the capacity of Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Senior Choir member, President of the Senior Choir, and her most honorable recent role as Mother of the Church.  As an addition to her roles, Margaret also served as the Treasurer of the New Grady Missionary Baptist Association.  Margaret was also Grand Worthy Matron of the Ransom Industrious Grand Chapter Fraternal Order of Eastern Star, Inc. in Albany, Georgia.

In 1949, Margaret was joined in holy matrimony to Chris C. Harris, who preceded her in death.  To this union seven children were born.

Margaret worked on local farms as a teenager to which her hard work ethic was rooted from along with the responsibility of having to return home to cook for the household.  Margaret was employed with Royal Poultry and worked and retired as a textile worker-seamstress at RCM Enterprises of Baconton, Georgia.

To her children, she was "momma"; to her grandchildren, she was "grandma"; to her great grandchildren, Margaret was affectionately known as "Big Momma", a name given to her by her first great grandchild.  She was known to us all for her amazing food filled with love and her quickness in the kitchen.  She loved to sew and her love for the Lord was undeniable.  She was a praying woman, a true Woman of God.

In addition to her parents and spouse, Margaret was preceded in death by two daughters, Mae Willie Harris and Mamie J. Harris; one sister, Rachel D. Haywood; three brothers, Jimmy L. Redden, Clifford Redden, Sr. and Danny Redden.

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.  Ecclesiastes 3:1.

On Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Pruitt Health in Macon, Georgia, she transitioned gracefully from this earthly world.
