"Sarge" gave his life to CHRIST at an early age.  He attended the public school system of Camilla, Georgia, CCS, and graduated from Mitchell County High School, class of 1974.  Upon graduation, "Sarge" enlisted in the United Sates Army, where he carried the rank of Staff Sergeant.  "Sarge" was proud of his honorable service to his country, and he forged life-long friendships from his Vietnam-era service.

Upon discharge, "Sarge" settled to in live in Jacksonville, Florida where he began a family of his own, was employed by the United States Post Office, then plied his trade as a carpenter/construction worker.  Eventually returning to his home roots, "Sarge" was employed by Cooper Tires of Albany, Georgia.

"Sarge" loved fishing, and he was a favorite of his nieces and nephews.  His good humor was contagious and he was often the heart of family gatherings.  A member of the CCS Marching Band, and lending his distinctive bass tones to singing groups along the way, "Sarge" did not shy from expressing his affections to family and friends alike, and asking "who loves you baby?"
