Martin's story began on July 22, 1969 in Albany, Georgia where he was born to Eddie L. Carter and the late Sylvia Brown Carter. Early chapters of his life showed a love for service. Martin attended and graduated from Albany High School. He earned a degree in accounting from Albany State University, and a culinary arts degree from Albany Technical College.
In 2012, Martin married the love of his life, Andrea Roberson of Tifton, Georgia. They have two daughters, Taelor E. Dennard and Bailey K. Dennard.
From the very beginning of his story, Martin was taught to serve. He was Co-Owner of Carter's Grill and Restaurant for twenty plus years. Living in Albany, he was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. He continued his service to the community through the brotherhood of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Kappa Psi, Henry Link Johnson Elk Lodge #633 and Sons of the American Legion #512. Martin also served on several boards in his community; such as ADDICA, downtown development. He was interested in the welfare and future of Albany.
An outgoing, gentle giant is how most would describe Martin. He loved his family, traveling, cooking, and sports. He would be found watching the Maury Povich Show.
Martin was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Brown Carter and his brother, Vincent Carter, as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents. Martin was ushered into the next life---for the perfect and eternal stay on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.
