Mrs. Frances Johnson was born on an Easter Sunday morning of April 5, 1942 to the late James H. Gee, Sr. and Irene E. Gee in Pelham, Georgia, where she attended Mitchell County Training School.

At an early age she confessed CHRIST, was baptized at Summerhill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Rochester Johnson.  She served and participated in various areas of her church and was a former member of the Senior Chorus.

Mrs. Johnson was employed with Coats & Clarke until her retirement in 2004.  During her retirement to which she fully enjoyed, she spent her adored years as an avid gardener, seamstress, quilter, and loved to crochet.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Johnson, whom she married on August 9, 1996; children, Darrack B. Gee and Teresa G. Adams; her siblings, Ernest Gee and Margaret R. Gee.

She departed her earthly life of 80 years on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in Chesapeake, Virginia.

She leaves to cherish her memories four devoted children:  Marion G. Jackson (Barney) of Thomasville, Georgia; Alvinia E. Jones of Tallahassee, Florida, Carolyn E. White (David) of Pelham, Georgia, and Terrence U. Jones (Alicia) of Chesapeake, Virginia.  She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother – James H. Gee, Jr.; Brothers-in-Love – J. W. Jones, Larry Walker, Melvin Jones, and Jimmie Jones; sisters-in-love – Lizzie Mae Wheeler, Willie Mae Jones aka her gardening friend, Barbara R. Clark, and nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
