Michael Kegler, a member of the Greater Union Missionary Baptist Church and a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Georgia. Born on January 30, 1955, in Camilla, Georgia, Michael lived a life marked by dedication to his country, his faith, and his family.
A graduate of Mitchell County High School’s Class of 1972, Michael carried with him the values instilled during his youth and education in Camilla throughout his lifetime. His service in the United States Army stands as a testament to his commitment and courage, qualities that defined his approach to every chapter of his life.
Michael was born to Cobbie and Ben Kegler, both of whom preceded him in death. His memory will be cherished by those who knew him best—his siblings and his community. He is survived by one brother, Troy Kegler, and three sisters: Peggy "Fluffy" McKinney, Evelyn Kegler, and Barbara Howard. Alongside these close family members, other relatives and friends hold Michael in their hearts, remembering him for his kindness, strength, and generosity.
Within the walls of Greater Union Missionary Baptist Church, Michael found spiritual solace and fellowship, enriching the lives of all who had the privilege to worship alongside him. His faith was a cornerstone that guided him and provided comfort to those around him.
