Faye Byrd
April 25, 1959 – February 10, 2025
Minister Katherine Faye Byrd was born April 25, 1959 to Annie Mae Jackson and the late Elder Dave Jackson of Camilla, Georgia.
Minister Byrd confessed CHRIST at an early age at the Pentecostal Church of God in Meigs, Georgia. She was a faithful member who sang in the choir and was President of the Youth Choir. She later joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church with her husband where she was a member until her death.
She married the love of her life the Rev. Frizzell Byrd, Jr. on April 21,1980 and they had four children together and one preceded them in death.
She was educated in the Mitchell County School System and was a graduate of the Class of 1977 and later attended Albany Technical College majoring in Early Childhood. She worked many years as a daycare assistant, at Ithaca Manufacturing and finally retiring from Autry State Prison in Pelham, Georgia as a correctional officer and recently was appointed a long-term substitute at Pelham Middle School which she truly enjoyed. She was the founder and President of The Ladies on the Move for Christ which was a women's mission group that served as a community outreach. She was also a member of The Order of Eastern Star Wisteria Chapter 256 and Golden Circles where she served as secretary. She had served as Minister's Wives Coordinator and Regional Vice Chair for the Georgia Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc. (GMBC) Association and was currently the State Assistant Prayer Warrior Coordinator.
Minister Byrd departed this life on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, Elder Dave Jackson and daughter Sandra Byrd.
Minister Byrd (Queen) leaves to cherish her memories her loving King for 44 years the Reverend Frizzell Byrd, Jr. and they have three children: Kenyetta White, Frizzell Byrd III, and Stephanie Carter. Nine grandchildren: Kaelah, Mitchell, Sitarra, Tomeka, Chanel, Romaine (Shonkeisha), Jaida, Justice, and Jayden. Seven great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Jeremiah, Alex, Ja'reil, Cassandra, Marquise and Marley. Three great-great grandchildren: Jaylen, Aiden, and Kaiden. A mother, Annie Mae Jackson of Camilla, Georgia. Siblings: Delores Pinkins (Leroy) of Camilla, Georgia, Dr. Marla Fowler (Roderick) of Albany, Georgia, Marlon Jackson of Decatur, Georgia, Shanice Jackson of Albany, Georgia and Veronica Jackson of Albany, Georgia. A host of nieces and nephews: Leroy Pinkins, Jr, Dondrail Pinkins, Torrie Pinkins, Byron Jackson, Desirae Jackson, Kason Jackson, Messiah Jackson, and Harmoni Jackson. Two uncles: Bennie Jackson and Arthel Jackson of Camilla and three aunts: Gladys Hilbert, Lois Jackson, and Cyretha Jackson of Camilla, Georgia.
