Obituary

Minnie Lee Lawrence, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God, was born on September 18, 1933, to the late Obey and Pauline Brown. She was one of four children, all of whom preceded her in death. On November 29, 2025, shortly after the season of Thanksgiving, Minnie was peacefully called home to be with the Lord and reunited with her loved ones who went before her.

Minnie was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Paula Anne King, whom she cherished deeply throughout her life. Though faced with profound loss, Minnie's strength, grace, and unwavering faith remained evident to all who knew her.

She leaves to honor her legacy her loving son-in-law, Gregory King (Warner Robins, GA), granddaughter, Hillary Symone Rawls, whom she helped nurture with boundless love and wisdom; her devoted grandson-in-law, Anthony Rawls; and her three precious great-grandchildren: Kensington (11), Karrington (8), and Kennadi (2), all of Chesapeake, Virginia. Minnie is also survived by a host of nieces, including Pauline Lawhorne & Family (Miami, FL) and Nancy Anderson & Family (Buffalo, NY), along with many extended relatives and friends whose lives were touched by her warmth and steady kindness.

A proud resident of Mitchell County, Georgia, Minnie lived a life marked by dedication and service. She served over 25 years at Mitchell County Hospital as a dietary specialist, bringing comfort and nourishment to countless patients and staff. Her work was more than a career—it was an expression of her generous spirit.

Minnie was a devout Christian and a lifelong member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla, Georgia. Her faith guided every step she took, and she lived in a way that reflected her love for God—steadfast, compassionate, humble, and true.

Those who knew Minnie will remember her gentle presence, her unwavering devotion to family, and her faith that never wavered. She lived a long, fruitful life, and her transition into eternal rest was met, no doubt, with open arms and heavenly joy.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy of love, faith, and resilience lives on through the generations she leaves behind.

"Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord."
— Matthew 25:23

May her soul rest in everlasting peace.
