Nathan "Jeff" Haywood was born June 21, 1951 in the Oak Grove Community of Camilla, Georgia, to Nathan "Jr." Haywood and Christine Wilson Haywood.  Additional parents were Columbus "Buddy" and Leola Bell.

He confessed CHRIST and united with the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla, Georgia.

He was a graduate of the class of 1968 at Camilla Consolidated High School.

He was united in marriage to Patricia Bostick Marcus.  He was later united in marriage to Mae Ethel Toombs who preceded him in death.

Jeff was a Superintendent of the Gas Department with the City of Camilla.  He retired after more than twenty-five years with the city.

He departed this life on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida after a lengthy illness.

He is survived by siblings, Mary Jo Haywood and Rita Haywood of Camilla, Georgia, Cecil (Bessie) Haywood of Columbus, Georgia, Willie Carol Arline of Albany, Georgia; also, Willie James (Denise Willis) Davis, Martha Cabiness, Tom Bell, Mary Ann Peoples, Bobby Joe Bell, Dorothy Ann Hill, Teresa Bell, and Willie Jerome Bell of Camilla, Georgia; father-in-law, Hollis Toombs of Camilla, Georgia; brothers-in-law, Larry Randall of Jacksonville, Florida and Reverend Tom Mango of Pelham, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Mary Mango of Pelham, Georgia and Leola Taylor of Perry, Georgia; a devoted aunt-in-law, Irene Fluellen of Camilla, Georgia; his special buddies, Joshua Haywood and Buffy Lumpkin; many other relatives and friends, especially his "families", the City of Camilla and the CCS Class of 1968.
