Obituary
At an early age, she confessed CHRIST and was baptized at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church in Pelham, Georgia under the pastorage of the late Reverend I. P. Platt. Later, Ophelia, along with her family membership was moved to Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, when the family loved on the Beck Farm on Georgia 3, Pelham, Georgia. She later became a member of Beulah Missionary Baptist of Camilla, Georgia.
Ophelia was joined in Holy Matrimony to Willie B. Davis, who preceded her in death. To this union was born seven children.
Ophelia departed this life peacefully, Friday evening, November 18, 2016, at her residence.
Ophelia had five brothers and three sisters who preceded her in death. Living siblings are Ella Vera Smith of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Margaret Wallace of Pelham, Georgia.
Ophelia leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, five daughters, Phyllis Davis of Miami, Florida, Linda Davis, Bernita Thompson (Freddie) of Camilla, Georgia, Patricia Jackson (Oscar) of Albany, Georgia, and Brigitte Davis of Atlanta, Georgia. Preceding her in death was Janice "Red" Davis Hicks. One son, Michael Davis (Margaret) of Atlanta, Georgia. Ophelia leaves behind fifteen grandchildren; one who preceded her in death, LaShea Thompson; numerous great grandchildren; one who preceded her in death, Cortland Freeman; a sister-in-law, Alice Davis of Camilla, Georgia, a brother-in-law, S. T. Fielder of Pelham, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews; grandchildren; and you all our many friends and family. We love you!
