Obituary

The funeral service of Q. T. McKinney, will be conducted Saturday, December 5, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 130 Newton Street, Camilla. Reverend Charles Gilbert will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Q. T. McKinney was born on May 10, 1914 in Albany, Georgia to the late Ed McKinney and Mary McKinney.

He was a devoted husband of fifty-three years to Mittie C. McKinney, who preceded him in death.

Q. T. confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Habakkuk Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Q. T. was employed at Camilla Cotton Oil Company and later employed for the City of Camilla for twenty-one years where he retired.

Q. T. departed this life on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Mitchell County Convalescent Center.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters, Alonzie Miller of Savannah, Georgia, Annie Ruth Bowens (the late Charles) of Camilla, Georgia, Evonne Burns (John Arthur) of Huntsville, Alabama; one son, Willie McKinney (Peggy) of Camilla, Georgia; one son-in-law, C. T. Spence of New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Q. T. also leaves to celebrate his memories two brothers, Johnny W. McKinney (Essie), Henry McKinney (Lathey); one sister, Odessa (L. C.) Harden; like a sister, Mary Jones; two sisters-in-law, Lucinda Maples, Mammie (the late Ed) McKinney.

Preceding him in death included three children, Annie Doris Spence, Henry Maples and M. C. McKinney; one sister, Lois McKinney; one brother, Ed McKinney.

Q. T. leaves to cherish his legacy and celebrate his life a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
