Obituary

The funeral service of Robert Lee "Dankum" Hampton, will be conducted Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 331 Peachtree Street, Camilla. Reverend Sylvester Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers will be his fellow truckdrivers.

Active Pallbearers will be Horace Coleman, R. D. Gilbert, Rufus Jackson, Johnny Jones, Tony Porter, Johnny Stubbs.

Robert Lee Hampton was born November 13, 1953 in Mitchell County, Georgia, to the late Willie Hampton and Irene Ross Hampton.

At an early age he confessed Christ and united with the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church of Camilla, Georgia.

In addition to his mother and father, also preceding him in death include a brother, Willie Hampton, Jr., a sister, Mary Lee Hampton Benton.

On January 11, 2009, God sent his holy angels to carry our beloved father, Robert Lee Hampton, to his heavenly home.

He leaves to cherish his memories a wife of thirty-one years, Sandra M. Haywood Hampton of Camilla, Georgia; four daughters, Renethan (Lorenzo) Jones of Camilla, Georgia, Sonya Hampton of Albany, Georgia, Kelly Hampton and Adrianne Hampton of Camilla, Georgia; one son, Matthew McCall of Albany, Georgia; three sisters, Margaree Hampton of Detroit, Michigan, Annie (Terry) Davis of Atlanta, Georgia, Tracey White of Camilla, Georgia; four brothers, Roscoe Hampton of Albany, Georgia, Lawson Hampton of Camilla, Georgia, David Arline and Lewis Arline of Camilla, Georgia; a father-in-law, Joe Nathan Haywood of Camilla, Georgia; three sisters-in-law, Gloria (Willie C.) Williams of Pelham, Georgia, Vanessa (Darryl) Robinson of Putney, Georgia, Joann Haywood of Camilla, Georgia; a brother-in-law, Johnny (Yolanda) Haywood and Jerry Haywood of Camilla, Georgia; an aunt, Dollie Mae Bradley of Miami, Florida; an uncle, Bennie Hampton of Albany, New York; six grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at the Robert Jester Mortuary on Friday, January 16, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
