Robert Lee McIntyre, Jr., lovingly known as “June,” passed away on August 25, 2026, at his residence in Camilla, Georgia. He was born on May 31, 1934, in Mitchell County, Georgia, and lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.

Mr. McIntyre was a farmer, a calling that reflected his steady spirit and deep connection to the land. He was also a devoted member and deacon at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith and service were an important part of his life. Those who knew him will remember the joy he found in being with his family. Some of the warmest memories he leaves behind are of Sunday dinners shared together, times that brought loved ones close around the table. He was especially known for making Brunswick Stew, a favorite dish that became part of the comfort and fellowship he so generously gave to others.

Above all, Robert was a family man who enjoyed spending time with those he loved. His presence, guidance, and the simple gifts of togetherness will be remembered with affection by all who had the blessing of knowing him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Joe Ellen Evans, Shirley (Frank) Williams, Mary Smith, Shiwanni Hampton, and Dianne (Dupree) Williams; and his sons, Lynwood McIntyre and Anthony (Chaka) McIntyre; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews. Their lives stand as part of the legacy he nurtured with love, care, and devotion, and they will carry forward the many memories they shared with him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert McIntyre; his mother, Addie Sweet; his wife, Geneva McIntyre; his daughter, Gloria Digbie; his brothers, Willie James McIntyre and Jay Jackson; and his sister, Alice Thomas. As his family remembers him, they also hold close the love of those who welcomed him home before him.

A funeral service will be held at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 8572 Pinecliff Road, Camilla, Georgia 31730. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 8572 Pinecliff Road, Camilla, Georgia 31730.

Robert Lee McIntyre, Jr. leaves behind a legacy of faith, family fellowship, and loving memories gathered around the table. He will be deeply missed and tenderly remembered.
