IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert (Luv)
Williams, Jr.
August 28, 1971 – June 24, 2015
Robert Lee Williams, Jr., made his footprints across the sky on August 28, 1971 to Robert Williams, Sr. and Lottie Williams of Camilla, Georgia. He grew from a child to a man in the city of Camilla, graduating from Mitchell-Baker High School.
Robert was united in Holy Matrimony to Wanda Johnson on May 8, 1998. To this union two children were born, Robert III and Rondarrius.
He confessed Christ at an early age at Brown Chapel Church of Camilla, Georgia. He later moved his membership to Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully on the Deacon Board.
Robert began his career in the workforce with Golden Peanut Company of Camilla, for five years. After resigning, Robert became gainfully employed with Lineage Flint Rivers of Albany, Georgia. He was a dedicated employee for nineteen years until his demise.
Robert Williams, Jr., affectionately known as "Luv" or "Coach Luv" to most of us, was a man of standards, a father figure to kids, and a mentor, as well as a role model, to the youth. Coach Luv impacted the lives of many, family, friends and co-workers. He was always wearing a smile and encouraging others to strive for the best. He embedded in our youth "the sky is the limit": you can do, go or be whatever you want to be. He taught them to be ambitious, mannerable and leaders. Most importantly, he taught them to put GOD first. Coach Luv always had a lending hand to others in anyway he could. He was the picture and definition of "a strong praying black man."
Coach Luv was the head coach of Baconton Community Charter School, a coach for Mitchell County Recreational Department, and the coach of two traveling basketball teams, the Tarheels and the Extremes.
On June 24, 2015, Coach Luv transitioned from this earth to heaven at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Lizzie Martin; paternal grandmother, Claretha Williams; paternal grandfather, George Peter Williams, Jr.; a brother-in-law, Arthur "Charlie" Sanders; a mother-in-law, Wilma Sanders Johnson; a father-in-law, James Franklin Johnson; and a nephew, Terry V. Burley, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Wanda of Camilla, Georgia; two sons, Robert Lee Williams, III, and Rondarrius Williams of Camilla, Georgia; a father, Robert Williams, Sr. of Camilla, Georgia; a mother, Lottie Williams of Camilla, Georgia; two brothers, Anthony Williams of Albany, Georgia, Demond Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; four sisters, Mary Williams of Camilla, Georgia, Teresa (Curtis) Moore of Baconton, Georgia, Connie Session of Baconton, Georgia, Belinda Ann Williams of Albany, Georgia; a maternal grandfather, George Washington Martin; in-laws, Terry Burley and Teresa Burley of Camilla, Georgia, Victoria Sanders of Albany, Georgia; a god-brother, Daren Barnette (Dabo) of Camilla, Georgia; three special friends, Cornelius "Neal" Sanders, Dennis Logan, and Dewayne Burley of Camilla, Georgia; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins; two special nieces, Tiana Burley and Taylor Williams; a special cousin, Shaft Martin of Pelham, Georgia; five other nieces; eleven nephews.
