IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ron Rozell
Hicks
December 5, 1965 – June 8, 2019
It is with profound sorrow we announce the passing of Ron Rozell Hicks, 53, of Fairburn, Georgia, on Saturday, June 8, 2019.
Although Ron was a faithful servant and dedicated member of Elizabeth Baptist Church with Pastor Craig Oliver in Atlanta, Georgia, his homegoing service will be entrusted to his childhood church home, Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at 8825 River Road in Camilla, Georgia with the Reverend Jermaine King presiding at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 15, 2019.
Ron was born December 5, 1965, to the late Isaac Hicks and Roberta Hicks of Camilla, Georgia. Ron received his formal education from Mitchell-Baker High School, completing his studies with the Class of 1983.
Being the ever-curious young man, Ron set his sight on exploring the world and discovering how he could impact everyone he would meet. As a direct result of this curiosity, Ron joined the United States Marine Corp and began to advance in rank due to his stern demeanor and no-nonsense approach to life. After a series of major injuries, Ron retired and began his life of service and dedication to his family and church.
Ron's leisure time consisted of riding his motorcycle, working out at the gym and staying active in his yard. He took great pride in setting the bar when it came to his manicured lawn. Ron enjoyed his time playing championship baseball holding the position as pitcher.
Ron dedicated his life to the Lord at an early age when he became a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Camilla, Georgia. Upon being stationed in Arizona, Ron continued his walk until he later relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he became a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Craig Oliver. Ron dedicated many years working with both the Hospitality Ministry and Transportation Ministry.
Ron is the father of one son, Armante' and a daughter, Emily, who lovingly refers to him as "Pops."
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Isaac Hicks and his sister, Fonda Hicks.
Ron leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and dedicated wife, Yvette Hicks, Fairburn, Georgia; his beloved mother, Mrs. Roberta Hicks, Camilla, Georgia; his adoring sister and dedicated brother-in law, Mrs. Detrell (Spencer) Hawkins of Leesburg, Georgia; his devoted nieces, Jasmin Hawkins, Nyiema Hawkins, Nia Hawkins and Nadia Hawkins all of Leesburg Georgia. Ron's heartstrings were totally controlled by his great niece, Little Miss Olivia Flores and he wouldn't have it any other way.
Ron was loved and cherished by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
