He attended the Mitchell County School System.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Susie M. Johnson.


He departed this life on Friday, July 21, 2017 , at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla , Georgia .

Those he leaves to celebrate his life and wonderful memories are two brothers, Robert L. (Shirley) Johnson, Henderson (Lillie) Johnson of Camilla , Georgia ; one nephew, Anthony M. Johnson of Camilla , Georgia ; one niece, Leslie W. Smith of Camilla, Georgia; two aunts, Minnie Anderson of Cleveland, Ohio, Margaret Amos of Albany, Georgia; two uncles, Homer Amos of Zephyrhill, Florida, Reverend Ronnie Amos, Jr. of Mountain Side, New Jersey; a host of cousins and friends.
