Roy Emanuel Reese was born on October 21, 1945 in Mitchell County, Georgia, to the late Joe Reese and Arlena Reese.

"Fat", as he was affectionately called, was the sibling of three sisters, Mary Lee, Annie, and Mary Ester; four brothers, Joe, Jr., Andrew, Bobby, and J. C.

He received his education at Camilla Consolidated School and was a member of the class of 1965.

Roy Emanuel confessed CHRIST ad a very early age and joined the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.  He was blessed with a gift to play sports.  He played football and track and was a great pitcher with the Camilla Tigers Team.  He was the pitcher and his brother, Andrew (Tob) was the catcher.  The Camilla Tigers was one of the best teams ever to play baseball.

Roy was united in Holy Matrimony to Annie Bell Blackshear.  He was later united in marriage to Ella Jo Anderson for twenty-seven years.

Roy worked as a painter all his life until he retired.  He was also a very good cook.

In life, Roy considered his family and friends to be among his most prized blessings and delighted in bringing together for various gatherings.  His heart was full of love.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lee Redden; three brothers, Joe Reese, Jr., Bobby Earl Reese, and J. C. Reese; brothers-in-law, George Redden, Albert Ryan; sister-in-law, Ida Mae Reese.

On Sunday, July 10, 2022, he quietly transitioned to his eternal home at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia.

Those left to cherish his memories include a daughter, Helen Joyce Freeman (Rodger) of Thomasville, Georgia; two sisters, Annie Lee Thomas of Camilla, Georgia, Mary Esther Ryan of Dothan, Alabama; one brother, Andrew Lee Reese of Camilla, Georgia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
