December 15, 1933 – July 17, 2018
Roy Williams, Sr., son of the late Lula Mae Siner and Frank Williams, was born December 15, 1933 in Quitman, Georgia.
At an early age he confessed CHRIST and united with the Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church.
He was united in marriage to Margaret Thomas. To this union four children were born. One child, Roy E. Williams, Jr., preceded them in death.
He later united in marriage to Betty Williams, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Glennette Ross; three brothers, Charles Williams, Frank Williams, Jr., Ernest L. Williams; four sisters, Mattie Wells, Ruby Acree, Bessie Lee Jackson, Eloise Blocker.
Chunky, as he was affectionately called, departed this life on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at his residence.
He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Dorothy Banks, Sanya "Licia" (Derek) Jackson of Camilla, Georgia, Bobbie Ann (Ulysses) Wimberly of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Sandra (Rodney) Cooper of Gainesville, Florida; one son, Arthur Wade (Teresa) Thomas of Lilburn, Georgia; one sister, Elena Williams of Camilla, Georgia; two brothers, Johnny (Mary) Williams of Albany, Georgia, Cecil Williams of Lancaster, California; thirteen grandchildren, Kenya Huntley, LaTonya (Duriel) Jackson, Angela (Thalmus) Porter, Kezian (Shekia) Jackson, LaDonna (Johnny) Collins, Sanya (Rondaski) Burley, Alex (Shareka) Carter, Dawntay Smock, Sean B. (Carla) Hopkins, Tiffany Thomas, Roy Williams, III, Ashley Sheffield, Torry Ross of McComb, Mississippi; a special niece, Carol Ann Dawson of Camilla, Georgia; nine sisters-in-law, Ann Floyd of Youngstown, Ohio, Pearl (Tommy) Lloyd of El Paso, Texas, Rose Horton of Detroit, Michigan, Helen Williams, Lila Stafford, and Velma Scott, all of Camilla, Georgia, Leola (James) Robinson and Kathryn (Alvin) Sapp of Baconton, Georgia, and Barbara A. Williams of Albany, Georgia ; a host of great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
