The funeral service of Ruby Cile Jackson, will be conducted Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 331 Peachtree Street, Camilla, Georgia. Reverend Ananias Hopkins, III, will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Memorial Cemetery in Baconton, Georgia.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Franklin, Jr., Bob Jackson, Joel Jackson, Lawson Jackson, Jr., Perry Jackson, Roy Jackson.
Ms. Jackson was born in Camilla, Georgia, on December 10, 1943. She was the second of seven children born to the union of Mr. Lawson Jackson, Sr. and Mrs. Aradine Dixon Jackson.
She departed this life and entered into Eternal Rest on October 3,
2008, at her home after a nine-year battle with breast cancer. She always kept the faith and had a positive outlook on life.
At an early age she became a member of Beulah Missionary Baptist
Church under the pastorate of Reverend Grady Pinkney, where she
served as a Sunday School teacher under his leadership. Ruby was
also a member of the Beulah Baptist Church Team of the American
Cancer Society.
In 1962, she graduated from Camilla Consolidated High School. Ruby Cile maintained a close
relationship with her classmates and friends, hosting class meetings and attending outings. She was always witty, outspoken and the life of the party.
Ruby retired as a professional seamstress. She always enjoyed shopping, flowers and gardening, and extending warm hospitality towards her friends and family. She loved her family and always tried to ensure they were loved and never without. Ruby was also a member of the Mitchell County Branch of the NAACP.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Mr. Cecil Sanders and Mr. Charlie Wesley
Jackson; and a niece, Mrs. Geraldine Bradley.
She leaves to cherish her memories four brothers: Mr. Lawson (Maxell) Jackson, Jr. of Camilla, Georgia,
Mr. Perry (Josephine) Jackson of Gulfport, Mississippi, Mr. Roy (Annie Jean) Jackson of Camilla,
Georgia, and Mr. Bob Jackson of Albany, Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Helen (Calvin, Sr.) Franklin of
Camilla, Georgia; nieces and nephews: Mrs. Mae Florence (Bobby) Williams, Mr. Calvin Franklin, Jr.,
Mr. Allen Demetrius Jackson, Mr. Jamie Jackson, Ms. Bridget Jackson, all of Camilla, Georgia, Ms. Ynette Franklin, Mrs. Veronica (Earl) Douglas of Albany, Georgia, Ms. Ingy Franklin of Valdosta,
Georgia, Mrs. Larita Brown of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Mrs. Alisha Torrence of Sacramento, California, and Dr. Jerri Hines of San Antonia, Texas; two aunts: Mrs. Ruby Daniels and Mrs. Lillie Jackson, both of Camilla, Georgia; devoted friends: The Honorable Mary Jo Haywood, Mrs. Alice Davis, Mrs. Annie Doris "Dot" Jackson, all of Camilla, Georgia, and Mrs. Sarah Thomas West of Detroit, Michigan; and her special friends of Camilla Consolidated High School Class of 1962. She also leaves many other devoted relatives, friends and neighbors.
