Rudolphus Hicks was born to the late Benjamin Hicks and Marie Louise Beamon Hicks on March 27, 1945 in Camilla, Georgia.
He graduated from the Camilla Consolidated High School in 1963. He also attended Thomas Technical School in Thomasville, Georgia and received a certificate in typing and business.
Rudolphus joined Brown Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church at an early age and worked diligently in the church until he moved to East Chicago, Indiana.
He was united in holy matrimony to Margaret Spence and to this union one son was born, Vincent Rudolphus Hicks.
Rudolphus worked at Keadle Brothers Sawmill for a short period of time and was later employed by American Steel Foundries in East Chicago until his health failed.
He left East Chicago, Indiana and moved to Chicago, Illinois where he joined Mount Moriah Baptist Church and again served faithfully until he returned to Camilla in 2005.
Rudolphus was an extremely quiet person who never had a negative opinion or atleast never spoke openly about anyone in that manner. He also never complained about his condition. When asked how he was doing, his answer always was "fine".
