Sandra Collette Thomas was born on October 28, 1958 to L. A. Thomas and the late Leon Thomas in Camilla, Georgia.

She graduated from Mitchell County High school in 1976 and went to Savannah, Georgia to receive a Bachelor's degree from Savannah State University in Elementary Education.

She professed her life to Christ at an early age and later joined Union Missionary Baptist Church where she was member of the Union Singers for several years.

Ms. Thomas was a beloved educator in the Mitchell County School system for over 27 years. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many.

She quietly departed this life on Monday, June 27th surrounded by loved ones.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her mother: L. A. Thomas; her siblings: Jeffrey (the late Greda) Thomas, Don Thomas, Jarvis Thomas, Subrena (Curles) Williams, Lee Hampton, Harriet (Harry) Williams; two special sisters in love Mynitha Thomas, and Joanne Thomas.

Her five girls: Kia L. Watts, DeAndra J. Butler, Ashley T. Thomas, Brandi (Lavar) Griffin, and Alexis Thomas (Drew Mathis); seven loving grandchildren: Kelsey Donaldson, Ean Gilbert, Mason Peoples, Khylie Jordan, Amaya Mathis, Lauryn Griffin, and Madison Watts; nieces and nephews: Eugene Smith, Marquez Thomas, Jeffrey Thomas Jr., Jalandra Thomas, Melody Thomas, Javarus Thomas, Jarvis Thomas Jr., Jaquita Ross, Kanisha Williams, Jaquan Williams, Dazzeney Williams, Jasma West, Corey Hampton and Leann Hampton and a host of great nieces and nephews, family friends, and students.
