Sandra Wood McKinney was born April 26, 1954 as a gift from God to the late Ollie Mae Wood.
At a young age, she joined Walker Street Church of God In Christ in Camilla, Georgia.
During the early years of her life, she attended Camilla Consolidated School. After graduating from high school, she relocated to Miami, Florida where she continued her education by attending the University of Miami-HEP and Miami Dade Community College. While in Miami, Florida, she became a member of the World Deliverance Missionary Evangelist Center with Pastor Arthur and Cynthia White.
Her employment history included Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida in Forensics; Voting Poll Supervisor with Dade County Voters. She was also a caregiver for Daphne Cares and the founder of Extended Hands Ministry, Inc. with Feeding South Florida.
She was united in marriage to M. C. McKinney who preceded her in death.
As a granddaughter of the late Sally Silas Thomas, Sandra was a devoted mother. She was diligent in caring for the needs of her family. Sandra was a persistent, hardworking individual who was very passionate about her work. Her generous spirit and pleasant personality significantly impacted everyone who knew her.
On Saturday, August 10, 2019, Sandra departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home in Pelham, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Keenyau Wood; a son, Herbert Thompson; two grandsons, Yahri Robinson and Knowledge Williams; one granddaughter, Virtiqua Robinson; three great grandsons, Jordan Lyons, Bryce Robinson, Jayce Robinson; her beloved pets, Manfriend and Marian; a goddaughter, Sharon Williams; bonus sister, Evonne Burns; god grandson, Messiah Young; best childhood friend, Scarlette Brown; sister-in-christ, Mathie Edwards; many other loving family and friends.
