Santrell Lanett Sweet went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday morning, December 31, 2009, in Ellerslie, Georgia.
Santrell was a bright, gifted young lady who loved God and who made the world a better place. The loss of Santrell's sweet spirit is a tragic loss to those who knew her.
Santrell possessed God-given abilities to sing and used them to share her faith in Jesus Christ at her membership church, Central Baptist in Ellerslie, Georgia.
Santrell was born January 3, 1992 in Hinesville, Georgia to Gladys "Loretha" Sweet and Malvin Sweet. She was an honor student at Harris County High School in Hamilton, Georgia where she a member of the graduating class of 2010.
Santrell's school activities included being a member of the Harris County Lady Tigers basketball team; Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and was also a former member of the ninth grade ROTC.
"Trell", as she was affectionately called by her family, was a unique and awesome young lady that was led by God. She impacted many lives throughout her family, school, and also her church. The impact that she left with those she came in contact with had an everlasting impression which was so memorable. Her beautiful eyes along with her smile and gentle spirit touched so many people she met.
Santrell was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys "Loretha" Sweet, on January 6, 2009.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her father, Retired First Sergeant Malvin L. Sweet of Ellerslie, Georgia; one sister, Malendey N. Sweet of Camilla, Georgia; two nephews, Jamarion Childs and Jeremiah Childs, both of Camilla, Georgia; a loving grandmother, Lucile Crawford Silas of Camilla, Georgia; great grandmothers, Lillie Graham Crawford and Sallie Mae Silas, both of Camilla, Georgia; grandfather, Ozell Sweet of Warner Robins, Georgia; a very special aunt that she shared her middle name, Zellia Lanett Ross of Cincinnati, Ohio; godparents, Carolyn (Vonn) Black and Curlee Black of Phoenix City, Alabama; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Robert Jester Mortuary on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at 6:00 p.m.
