IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tammie Lenetta
Wimberly
November 17, 1964 – June 9, 2017
After toiling in this earthly vineyard, Tammie Lenetta Wimberly accepted God's invitation to come home for a much needed rest. He told her to let not her heart be troubled, for he had prepared a home for her. When she could no longer fight the afflictions and pain that haunted her body, Tammie stepped onto the road of immortality. She realized that this time, God did not give her a temporary healing. She did not have to pick up her bed and walk any longer in an imperfect body. Instead, on June 9, 2017, at 4:30 PM, Tammie received a complete healing. She put off mortality for immortality. In her transformation, she became a new creature.
Tammie, born November 17, 1964 in Camilla, Georgia, was born to Eddie Mae Smith and Johnnie Frank Smiley. Ask anyone what is remembered most about Tammie, and the response will always be her contagious smile. She had a sense of humor that her family all had experienced. Whenever something was said that caused a little jesting between them, Tammie always had a comical response waiting. Laughter made her unique and special.
Tammie knew there was a God. She confessed her belief in Christ as a young girl under Reverend Clarence Solomon at St. John Missionary Church in Camilla, Georgia.
Tammie graduated from Mitchell County High School in 1983. She continued her education at Albany Technical College in Albany, Georgia, receiving an Associate in Criminal Justice. She also attended Adelphi Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kelly Wimberly and a granddaughter, Rah'Asia Silas.
Tammie leaves in celebration of her life three children, Tania Hayward, Darris Hayward, Tiesha Hayward; her mother, Eddie Mae Smith; her father, Frank Smiley; brothers, Tony Wimberly, Jacques Smith; sisters, Janis Wimberly, Merica Smith, Candace Smith, Sekeia Ross; grandchildren, Amaray McDowell, Hailey Silas, Dazni Hayward, Aaron Riggins, Jr., Austin Vicks, Kali Smith; uncles, Climmie Lee (Emma) Wimberly, Lonnie (Yong) Wimberly; aunt, Shirley Jean Logan, Gracie (John) Broadway; a companion, Todd West; special friend, Krista Alexander; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
