IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Timothy Bernard
Revis
September 29, 1966 – November 5, 2022
Timothy Bernard Revis was born at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla, Georgia on September 29, 1966. A native of Newton, Baker County, Georgia, he was the youngest child of seven children born to the late Margrine Thomas and Cornelius Walter "C. W." Revis, II.
Timothy is a 1986 graduate of Mitchell-Baker High School in Camilla. He made his livelihood most often working with local farmers in Baker County.
At an early age, he joined the Thankful Missionary Baptist Church during Vacation Bible School. Not a clue about singing, he participated on the Thankful Usher Board.
Timothy most often found moments that would cause him to split his sides with laughter. He often brought laughter to his siblings: like the time Mother and Kim returned home, having left Timothy at home with Daddy and Kennedy. Kim kept saying "Timothy, you look funny (to mean strange)." Finally, he went into the bathroom, looked in the mirror, then came out, rubbing a hand across his brow and said, "These things done disappeared." He had shaved off his eyebrows because he wanted to shave and his eyebrows were the only hair on his face at that time.
Kennedy and Kim say that most Sunday mornings, after arriving at Thankful for Sunday School and church, leaning back in his chair during his Sunday School class Timothy would say, "I could have stayed in the bed." Growing up, we all understood that in Mother's house on Sunday morning, you didn't stay in the bed. When she drove that car out of the yard, you were in it to attend Sunday School and church.
Memories of his life will always be held close to their hearts by his siblings: Silvana Jenkins (Harold) of Camilla, GA; Anthony Revis (Linda) of Freeland, MI; Kim Drummond (Earl) of Wheatley Heights, NY; and John K. Revis (Sonji) of DeWitt, MI; by his brother-in-law, Curtis Clark, of Atlanta, GA; his nieces and nephews: Kerel Revis (Corey), Alexandria Douglas, Prikenya Revis, Krisica Clark, Shakis Drummond (Lewis), Ariana Ward, Kemel Clark, Kaniel Revis (Jenna), Akeen Drummond, Keyondra Freeman, and Kendalyn Revis; the late Aunt Jean Berry's remaining children, the Berry Boys; the patriarchal matriarch of our family, Mrs. Grace Hall Miller (Aunt Grace); matriarchal aunts Jacquelyn Ross (Jackie) and Veronice Gilbert; matriarchal uncle Freddie Thomas; great nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Timothy was preceded in death by both of his parents (Margrine and C. W. Revis, II); his eldest brother, Cornelius "Walter" Revis, III; his middle sister, Amelia "Kay" Revis Clark; his matriarchal granddaddy, Washington Thomas, Sr.; and his beloved patriarchal grandmother, Polly Ann Miller Revis Gilbert (Mama). To Mama, he was her "Plucky Boy." Whatever Mama needed Timothy to do (cleaning the many fish she often caught---He was the only Revis grandchild who didn't mind cleaning them; or brining in wood for her fireplace; or going to the store, etc.). She could count on him to get it done. Mama's "Plucky Boy" always had or showed determined courage, even in the face of difficulties. Timothy, you are loved!
