Obituary

Ula V. Dawson was born on September 1, 1952 in Mitchell County, Georgia to the late Johnell Caison, Sr. and Arosto Caison. She attended Camilla Consolidated School.

Ula V. lived in Mitchell County all of her life and joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla, Georgia at a young age. She worked at Cagle's, now Equity Group Division, for many years before becoming disabled.

Ula V. departed this life quietly at home Wednesday, January 7, 2015.

Preceding her in death include a daughter, Cathy Dawson; a brother, John L. "Knot" Caison, Jr.; and a sister, Louise Caison-Anderson.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Calvin (Keita) Dawson of Wahiawa, Hawaii; two daughters, Valerie (Ronald) Bates of Albany, Georgia, Khalilah "Pucy" (Andreau) Jess Merriweather of Bainbridge, Georgia; ten grandchildren, Jasmond, Denzel "Papa Daddy", Chelsey "Chelka Bella", Ronald, Jr. "RJ", Cam'Ron "Bug", Conrad, Collin "Scooter", Mason, Kennedi "Juicy" and Kamille "Pebbles"; one great grandchild, Denzel, Jr. "DJ"; five siblings, Betty Jean, Hattie Mae, Marie, Author Lee, and George, Sr.; aunts, numerous niece, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Life is but a stopping place,

A pause in what's to be,

A resting place along the road,

to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,

Different paths along the way,

We all were meant to learn some things,

but never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place,

Far greater than we know.

For some the journey's quicker,

For some the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends,

We'll claim a great reward,

And find an everlasting peace,

Together with the lord.
