Vera M. Walden was born in Mitchell County, Georgia on April 23, 1953. She was the daughter of the late Johnny C. Wheeler Sr. and the late Viola King Wheeler.

She was a Seamstress, Cleaning Service Provider, Homemaker, among other things. Most importantly, all of her gifts came from God!

She was joined in holy matrimony on September 21, 1981 to Howard L. Walden. They lived in wedlock for 43 years until her departure. This union included five children.

Vera departed her life on October 1, 2024 at Mitchell County Hospital. She was preceded in death by sister- Annie Doris; brother- Johnny C. Wheeler Jr., and husband- Eugene Butler.

She leaves to cherish her life and memories, a devoted husband, Howard L. Walden. Four sons and one daughter: Otis (Bernette) Wheeler of Indianapolis, Indiana, Harold (Laschet) Wheeler of Albany, Georgia, Eugene Butler of Vallejo, California, Willie (Moncorrius) Butler of Camilla, Georgia, and Shaketia (Calvin) Lawson of Albany, Georgia. Twenty-four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Four sisters: Vila (Johnny) Atkins, Malinda (Cleo) Shinard Jr., Lynette (the late; Tony) Spence all of Albany, Georgia, and Hattie (Carl) Drakes of Camilla, Georgia. Four brothers: Freddie (Gwen) Wheeler of Camilla, Georgia, Jimmie (friend; Carol), Howard (Angela) Wheeler and James (friend; Sheree) Wheeler both of Albany, Georgia; and one sister-in-law, Lizzie Wheeler of Pelham, Georgia, along with a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives, and friends.
