Obituary

W. Pearl Quimbley was born on November 13, 1946 to the late Sylvester Quimbley, Sr. and Jessie Quimbley.  She attended Camilla Consolidated School during her early years of education.  She attended and graduated from Albany State University, where she obtained her Bachelor and Master's degree in Middle School Education and Counseling.  Her actions, positive mentoring, and influential leadership led her to becoming a pillar within the community.  She was the first licensed African American female Barber in Mitchell County.  As a 30-year retired Educator, she did not stop there.  She became an Ordained minister, and a licensed Insurance Agent for various companies, which led her to becoming the District Leader for Primerica Insurance Company.  She was always business-driven and tirelessly always trying to help increase other people's standard of living.  As a child, she attended Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church and later joined the Open Door Church of Praise.  Pearl eventually joined Ebenezer Christian Center, where she remained, until she transitioned to her heavenly home.  She was known for using her spiritual praise and voice not just for teaching the Word of God, but also to lift people's spirits by singing the Gospels.

She was preceded in death by - Siblings: Charles (Alice) Riggin, Freddie Quimbley, Sr, Larry Quimbley, Vera (Jimmy) Gilbert, Eloise Quimbley.

Those left to cherish her memories are - Children: Shawana (Jimmie) Gardner, Sigmund (Natalie) Thomas.  Siblings: Sylvester Quimbley Sr., Amanda (Alonzo) Morman, Craig White, and sisters-in-law, Virgina Quimbley and Keva Quimbley.
