Walter Lewis Butler was born to the late Floyd Butler and Retha Butler in Camilla, Georgia on July 12, 1967. Walter gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined the Habakkuk Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred Butler and Alberta Butler and John Brown and Lillie Mae Brown.

He graduated from Mitchell-Baker High School in 1985 and attended South Georgia Technical College in Americus, Georgia. He relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he was employed in the Shipping and Receiving field. His most recent employer being Pitney Bowes. His hobbies were grilling, cooking and watching his beloved Miami Hurricanes and Dallas Cowboys.

He departed this life on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Piedmont Hospital in Fayetteville, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish his memories three sisters, Bettye Gilbert, Brenda Butler-Ross (Louis) and Darlene Goodman-Burns (John); one brother, Steve Goodman (Deborah), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
