Walter J. Hodge, Sr., was born on November 30, 1947 in Smithville, Georgia. He was the fourth of six sons born to Johnny Hodge and Mattie Mae Hodge.
On Saturday, November 3, 2018, the Lord called Brother Hodge home.
Walter was a devoted fisherman and has a license for Florida, Massachusetts, New York, and Georgia.
Walter graduated from Mt. Moriah High School in 1968.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Johnny Hodge and Mattie Mae Hodge, and his oldest brother, David Hodge.
Having touched many lives with his kindness and loving spirit and heart full of love, Walter leaves loving memories with those who loved him including one son, Walter J. Hodge, Jr. (Deena) of Bainbridge, Georgia; four grandchildren, Stephanie Hodge, Datavious Harper, Walter J. Hodge, III, Walter Hodge of Bainbridge, Georgia; three great grandchildren; one goddaughter, Alexander Cull; god son, Damien Pierce; four brothers, Emanuel D. Hodge of Bainbridge, Georgia, Johnny A. Hodge of Bainbridge, Georgia, James E. Hodge of Whigham, Georgia, Isaiah Hodge of Bainbridge, Georgia; special friends, Erma Jean Wilford of Quincy, Florida, Derighous Mitchell of Jamaica, New York, and fishing partner, James Jordon (also known as Chico) of Bainbridge, Georgia; a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
