IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willie C.
"Duck" Ross, Sr.
January 4, 1929 – August 31, 2010
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Willie C. Ross, Sr. was born January 4, 1929 to the late Joe Ross and Carrie Ross, Sr.
He confessed Christ and joined the Zion Grove Baptist Church.
He departed this life on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Mitchell County Convalescent Center in Camilla, Georgia.
He leaves to cherish his memories; one daughter, Catherine (Alexander) Royal of Camilla, Georgia; three sons, Willie C. (Vivian) Ross, Jr. of Pelham, Georgia, Jeffery (Sherita) Ross, Charles Silas of Albany, Georgia; one sister, Katherine Bradley of Baconton, Georgia; one brother, Joe Ross of Atlanta, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
We watched him suffer, day by day;
It caused us bitter grief;
To see him slowly pine away;
And could not give relief.
His weary hours and days of pain;
His troubled nights are past;
And in our aching hearts we know;
He has found sweet rest at last.
'Tis sweet to know we will meet again;
Where parting is no more;
And our dear loved one we loved so well;
Has only gone before.
God knows how much we miss him;
He counts the tears we shed;
And whispers, "Hush, he only sleeps;
Your loved one is not dead."
Some day, some time, our years shall see;
The face we loved so well.
Some day, some time, his hand we'll clasp;
And never say farewell.
